AZEEZA is a luxury womenswear label out of Chicago. The clothes are built around pure silk, hand-dyed color, and hand-worked embellishment, cut in silhouettes that read feminine without reading fussy. Evening pieces, day dresses, separates — designed for a woman who wants one thing in her closet she can rely on for the moments that matter.

Azeeza Khan grew up on the north side of Chicago, the daughter of first-generation immigrants from India. She learned to sew as a teenager on summers spent with family there. She studied political science and marketing at DePaul, then went into a corporate job she found no room in. In 2011 she left it, gave herself one year to replace her salary, and started the label with $3,000 and no formal design training. She showed her first collection at New York Fashion Week that September. Wholesale followed with Spring 2015 in Paris.

The brand has never taken outside investment. It is anchored by its flagship at 900 North Michigan Avenue in Chicago and carried at Saks, Kith, Shopbop, Revolve, and Farfetch. Collaborations with Nike and CB2 have taken the work beyond ready-to-wear. Khan still designs every collection and runs the company from Chicago, where she lives with her family.
